Film Director,
Cinematographer

George C. Perrin (known in Hungary as Perrin György) is an English-Hungarian filmmaker who began making films in his early twenties. His short films Lost to Sight (Mélypont), Immersed (Szakadás), 4th Dan, and Father to Son (Apáról Fiúra) have received several awards at international film festivals. His work – spanning short fiction, documentaries and educational content – has taken shape across London and Budapest, the two cities he calls home.

He typically works as both director and cinematographer on his own projects, while also offering his services as a freelance cinematographer on productions led by other filmmakers. His experience has enabled him to manage the multidisciplinary demands of filmmaking and to oversee complex projects from concept to completion.

Ars Poetica: Light, Meaning and Imperfection +

I approach projects with curiosity, openness, and a drive to get to the essence of the subject. My focus is on building the conditions for quality work with research, preparation, and effective collaboration.

In my short fiction projects, I like to blend action with complex subject matter to make visually captivating and thought-provoking films. As a director, I work to create an environment of mutual support – where cast and crew are united in helping each other reach their full potential. My approach to cinematography is to build from darkness, using light as a narrative tool that reveals character and story.

I strive for excellence, while knowing that authenticity often lives in imperfection.

I see my role as serving the creative process with empathy and craft: to keep learning and improving, professionally and inwardly, so that I may be worthy of what the work asks of me.
